When you think about the marvels of the French Riviera the town of Toulon isn’t the first place that comes to mind. Far from it actually.
She’s said to be not as posh as its neighbours, brought down by its military edge and with a chaotic urban planning. Let’s not give up on her too fast though. There is certainly a lot charm to the old pastel-colored mansions in the Mourillon district which share the spotlight with 70’s buildings signed by architects who obviously had dreams of California. This is rather amusing and it even gets inspiring sometimes…

The military port of Toulon is the principal base of the French Navy.
