In Situ : Lunarium, Vienna, Austria

The picture above is a good example of why I love Vienna. The city is miles away from the cheesy romantic image you might wanna stick on it. Instead it casually shows off a mix of boldness, modernity and elegance. As we were walking in a rather posh -think Financial district style- street, we saw this unbelievable façade, entirely covered in black velvet, with no visible entrance, just the ominous Lunarium sign in giant letters. At the time we thought it was some sort of underground-hardcore nightclub. How pedestrian of us! Upon doing some research -the kind that involves google-translating German- I discovered that it was a temporary art installation from Daniel Knorr, only opened from midnight to 5 am and designed to make you realize the potential of the night. Promises, Promises.
