Nowadays you will rarely find me on a crowded beach, especially at the height of summer. Yet sometimes the smell of beignets, the myriad of inflatable rafts on sale and the ice-cream vendors bring back nice childhood memories and lure me there for a second. I might even forget for an instant the cheap music screaming in my ears and find beauty in a foosball table.
