The place : San Giovanni degli Eremiti cloisters, Palermo, Sicily, Italy

This is the Italy of antique tragedies, with moonlit columns, pale fountains and stretched out shadows. I have an undying love for cloisters, and this small and gracious one behind the San Giovanni degli Eremiti church is just right. Half crumbled and adorned by orange and olive trees, I could sit there hours long if it weren't for the mosquitoes!
