Beach stones
These stones already made an apparition in the Brought back post dedicated to Sri Lanka, but seeing them around lately I felt they deserved a set of pictures to themselves! I have to admit that I have this habit of bringing back stones. For some reason I always feel like this is some kind of smuggling and am afraid of being caught doing it (I’ve heard that there are places where this is actually forbidden). In the end I guess that the more embarrassing part is definitely the room and the weight that this fancy of mine ends up taking in our luggage.
______________ Pigeon island is a tiny island on the east coast of Sri Lanka. It’s a protected National Park and a very good snorkelling spot. The stones are photographed in a Piet Hein Eek basket made in Vietnam.
Sheena
These aren’t stones, they’re coral!
The Voyageur
@Sheena They used to be corals yes! Now they’re quite…petrified 🙂
Christie
Whatever happened to take only pictures, leave only footprints?
Such a shame that you would promote the taking of petrified corals like its a good thing….
The Voyageur
@Christie I can’t really argue that it’s a good thing!
