The mood : Lille in January, France

Lille, I’d like to apologize.
For too long I’ve snobbed you. What I can say? Your Northern-ess was leaving me sceptical and one hour away from Paris was probably sounding too easy. I know that was unfair, yet here you are, with your already British flair, your almost Belgian charm, trying so hard under that low, rainy sky. You know your weather is a deal breaker, but let’s at least be friends, I’ll look the other way when the rain will fall and in exchange you’ll offer your Art Nouveau marvels.

Lille is located north of Paris, only 20 kilometers away for Belgium and 1h30 from London by Eurostar.
The city center was relatively spared by bombings during WWII, hence the abundance of beautiful historic buildings.
