The detail : doorbells, Florence, Italy

Despite its small-town, touristic feel, Florence felt very private in a way. Maybe too much, one could say. Like if, to protect themselves from the constant flow of foreigners, the inhabitants had organized a sumptuous private world of gardens, patios and palazzi, all hidden away behind high walls and big doors. As we tried to get a glimpse each time a portal opened, I couldn't help but notice how beautiful were the doorbells outside the properties.
