Panorama : the Mekong delta, Vietnam

The magic of a great river like the Mekong is hard to explain.
I even remember my mother telling me, as I showed her pictures: “the water ain’t very clear, ain’t it?”. So what is there to these muddy waters under a cloudy sky? There is that very vietnamese combination of harmony and bustle. It feels like so many people are living of the Mekong, and yet the feeling of quiet you get navigating it is unbelievable. The river is so wide at times that the towns on the shore, the line of trees and the other boats are like delicate miniatures floating on the horizon. Busy never looked so still.

These are some seriously beautiful photos. We were in Vietnam a few months ago, but didn’t make it down to the Mekong. Definitely need to get there one day!

@Alison Thank you! We thought the same thing when we were in the South: “will have to come back and see Hanoï someday!”.
