The White Desert made me think of the Moon, but the Black one is definitely more on the Mars side.
Who would believe they’re just a few kilometers away from each other?
It looks like hell on earth on those pictures, but the truth is, on a warm November day it was actually nice to walk around there. Despite the fact that the White Desert is considered the main attraction in this part of Egypt – I hadn’t even heard of the Black Desert before we got there – I was really blown away by this landscape. The contrast of the black volcanic stone against the fine golden sand was absolutely striking.
________________ The Black Desert is located in the Western part of Egypt, four hours away from Cairo by car.
