Drawing more has been on the top of my new year’s resolutions list for a while now. Yet I never seem to find the time!
When Octaevo, a Barcelona based stationery company, contacted me about their collection of Mediterranean-inspired notebooks, I knew this would be the perfect opportunity to finally make good on my resolution.
Over the course of the next few weeks, I’ll revisit each of the Mediterranean countries I’ve visited with one sketch freely encompassing my memories of the place. All of it will of course be happening on Octaevo‘s beautiful notebooks!
Today we start in France, with Toulon!
This former Riviera hotspot doesn’t have the same glamorous appeal of glitzier neighbouring towns but it holds a special place in my heart because we have good friends living there and I find the juxtaposition of the romantic old town with Miami-esque 70’s architecture quite inspiring. Palm trees, seafood and transparent waters are guaranteed there, as well as the famous Southern accent, determining who -them or us- actually has an accent being a source of endless debate!
