Green Delight : Western Desert, Egypt

I knowcalling it a “green delight” is a little bit of a stretch, but let’s say stones are the closest thing to greenery here in the desert.
Despite knowing nothing in geology I was quite impressed by the variety of colors and shapes we encountered. I found it fascinating that you could find dunes scattered with seashells 500 km from the coast or stones pulverized kilometers away by volcanic eruption that happened ages ago.
It was also a good opportunity to gather a collection of curious stones which now sits on my dresser. Those were blown far away indeed.

Most of these pictures were taken in the White and Black desert, some in the Western one.
